You may know this already, but one of my biggest passions in life is photography. I have a strong background in photography, I regularly participate in Photo events, and a significant portion of my day job is taking photos of the awesome things we do to share it with everybody.

I wanted to try something a little different, so what I did here was paint the wood first and then carve it. That’s a first for me and it’s been a lot of fun. The wood is all layups of maple that was intended for another project before I ever received them. I think the end result is a little hipster, a little trendy, a little vintage and all-around excellent.

You can find them in my etsy shop – there’s several of them (here, here, here, here) As a fun extra I used a scrap piece for a spoil board and I ended up really liking the final result, so that went up too.
